Texas Landowners Council

Protecting YOUR Right to

Own Land in Texas

Texas Landowners Council is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(6) organization formed in 1990 by a group of landowners who recognized the need to protect property rights according to the U.S. and Texas Constitutions.  Since this organization was founded, our involvement in the state legislative process has been crucial to protecting property rights for all Texans. We believe that if any property rights are violated anywhere in the state, all landowners in Texas can be subjected to the same abuse.

Legislative Goals

1.  Recognize groundwater rights per acre of land owned over aquifer.

2.  Prohibit eminent domain abuse allowed by court decisions.

  1. 3. Prevent takings of land or land use without compensation.

  2. 4. Eliminate property tax.

  3. 5. Repeal TAHC authority to implement mandatory animal identification.
